Clare Curtis
Graphic designer and illustrator. Raised and living in Felixstowe, Suffolk, England
Studied illustration and graphics (Illustration and Printmaking) at Duncan
of Jordanstone Collage of Art in Dundee in Scotland during the years 1988-1991.
Moved after studies to London where she established herself as a freelance illustrator
with assignments for publishers of non-fiction and adult literature and children's books, design companies and
magazine for garden etc.
In 1997, she moved back to Felixstowe to mainly devote herself to graphics where the focus came to be on "relief printsmaking", i.e. letterpress in the form of linoleum cuts and woodcuts. In collaboration with the famous Curwen Studio, she has also printed lithographs.
Sources of inspiration include the home's coastal environment by the North Sea as well
nature in Suffolk and garden life in England. Clare Curtis is represented in a number of reputable galleries around the UK.
