Gerhard Hofmann

Born in Worms, Germany in 1960. Lives in the Palatinate. Works as a graphic artist, draftsman and painter.


Gerhard Hofmann received several prizes and scholarships early in his career, including from Salzburg in Austria, where he later worked as a graphics teacher at the "Sommerakademie für Bildende Kunst" for many years.


In 1991 he published an etching series inspired by Mozart's "Magic Flute" and the following year came the etching series "A Midsummer Night's Dream". He has subsequently published various graphic folders and etching series such as "Cats", "Alice im Wunderland", "Genesis" and "Rätselhafte Pfalz".


He often takes the landscape motifs from his travels in Tuscany and the rest of Italy.


Gerhard Hofmann has participated in international graphics biennials such as the graphics biennial in Oderzo in Italy and the biennial in Ljubljana in Slovenia.


He has also worked with glass and made glass sculptures in collaboration with Berengo-Fine-Arts in Venice.
