Hilda Kernell lived eight years in Stockholm and made her debut at Galleri Heland in 1971. The same is exhibited at the National Museum's "Unga tengnare". Has subsequently had around ten exhibitions in Sweden and around thirty exhibitions in Holland.
In Sweden, she has exhibited at Galleri Gripen in Karlstad, Dubergska Gården in Motala, Ljungby's art gallery, Gallery Hörle castle, Värnamo and the art gallery in Alvesta. In Holland, she has exhibited at galleries and art galleries in Amsterdam, Laren, Hilversum, Aalsmeer, The Hague, Maastricht Rotterdam, Roden, Borgen and Groningen (Pictura).
Hilda Kernell's visual world lies in the borderland between outer and inner realities where thoughts, whims and ideas are draped in the recognizable and familiar forms of outer reality. The result is surprising. In small triptychs, painted on wooden panels, she depicts pairs of opposites with common denominators such as Outside/Inside, Summer/Winter and Medieval/Now.
She is a member of the Centrum voor Beeldende Kunst in Groningen.
