Painter and graphic artist.
Studies 1950-1956 at the Art Academy with professors Sven Erixon and Olle Nyman as teachers. 1960-1962 studies at the Academy's graphic school.
Debut position in 1956 at Petra in Stockholm. Subsequently, a large number of solo and group exhibitions in Sweden and abroad, separately at the Old Town Hall in Södertälje in 2007, Alfa Laval, Galleri Färg och Form, Galleri Dr Glas, gallery Svenska Bilder in Stockholm and Galleri Pictor, Gothenburg.
He has been called the "painter's" painter and together with the printer Ove Lööf in Stockholm, he became one of the pioneers for the development of an artistic application of the serigraphic printing art in Sweden. Sources of inspiration for Igge Karlsson were, among other things, "Gothenburg colorism", jazz music and French fauvists such as Henri Matisse and Maurice de Vlaminck.
