Kjell A Sundberg

b. 1942 in Långbäcken, Västerbotten.

Autodidact, painter, sculptor, graphic artist.


Debuted at Galleri Miramar in Ljungby in 1979 and since then has held solo exhibitions for over 60 years, among others at Galleri A E Boj in Stockholm, Galleri Bohandlargården in Båstad, Galleri Ängeln in Lund, Vetlanda Art Association, Ljungby Art Association, Galleri Galax in Gothenburg, Northern Light in Palo Alto, USA, Gallery Sigma in Växjö, Gallery Rackargården in Kalmar, Gallery Helth in Copenhagen and Småland's museum in Växjö.


Kjell Sundberg has received a wide range of assignments for the public environment. There have been around 40 different decoration assignments that he has portrayed with oil paintings and wooden sculptures. His wooden sculptures can be found, among other things, at the municipality building and the library in Ljungby, Jönköping's county theater, Södra Skogsägarna in Växjö, Angelstad's church, Smålands Museum and the Länslasarette in Växjö and at Karlshamn's library (Duvdrotningen).


For Båstad Municipality, he has, among other things, executed a suite of 14 paintings, illustrating important events in Båstad's history and painted in connection with Båstad's 550th anniversary.

For the Narrator's Room in Båstad's new library, he has executed the oil painting Sagoskog.


He has also, together with Mia Einarsdotter, been responsible for the artistic design of Ljungby Sagomuseum.


Kjell Sundberg exhibited paintings, graphics and wooden sculptures at Pictor 7 July-26 August 2012. The exhibition was opened by the author Per Gustavsson.
