Lars Melander
born 1939, living in Stockholm.
Painter, draftsman and graphic artist. Educated at Konstfack in Stockholm and at art schools in New York and Kansas City. Active in the USA during most of the 70s.
About 40 separate exhibitions in, among other places, San Francisco and London, in Sweden, among others, at the Konstnärshuset in Sthlm and at Galleri Pictor in Gothenburg ('89 and '91).
Participated in juried exhibitions at e.g. the Drawing Triennial in Landskrona Art Gallery 2001, Deutsches Plakat Museum in Essen, Germany, Graphikens Hus in Mariefred ('97), Kulturhuset in Stockholm ('93) Graphics Biennale in Varna, Bulgaria ('89, '91 and ' 93) and the Print Biennale in Maastricht, Holland ('93).
Lars Melander is represented at the National Museum and the Statens Konstråd in Stockholm, Grafikens Hus in Mariefred, municipalities and county councils in Sweden as well as in private collections in the USA and Sweden.
In 2004, the book about Lars Melander - Den rastlösa penseln by Gösta Arvidsson was published by Karlsson's publishing house.
