Lis Gram
Lives in Egaa, Aarhus, Denmark. Works with painting and arts and crafts, textiles.
Educated at the Department of Textiles at Kunsthåndværkskolen in Copenhagen (1958-62) and with the painter William Hansen in Strib.
Among the many group exhibitions over the years can be mentioned "Form og Stof" at Kunstmuseet Trapholt in Kolding, the International Textile Triennale in Lodz, Poland, the International MIniature Exhibition in Vera Cruz, Mexico, "Kunststof" at Brandts Klædefabrik in Odense, "Danish Textile and Design" at Ein Harod Museum in Israel, "5 Women in the Nordics" in Kalmar, "Miniatures 2000", Museum of Art and Design in Helsinki, Gallery Peggy Hopper, Hawaii, Skovhuset in Værløse, Denmark, Modern Artist Gallery in Reading, England, Galleri Svenshög , Lund and Andersen Art in Copenhagen.
Solo exhibitions at, among others, Gallery Space 21 in Tokyo, Gallery 86 in Lodz, Poland, Gallery Krøyer and Gallery Progres in Denmark.
Among many public commissions can be mentioned the "Kirsebærshaven" in the church hall in Hillerød, Danske Bank in Egå, Sculpture for Kalmar municipality, Amtsgården in Århus and gable painting in Brande, Denmark.
She is also represented at Det Danske Kunstindustrimuseum in Copenhagen, Politikens Kunstfond, Statens Kunstfond, Aarhus County and Nagoya University of Arts in Japan.
Lis Gram has also taught at various art schools for many years, including as leader of the textile department at the College of Art in Kolding, as a guest teacher at, among others, Ärhus Kunstakademie and in Vicenza, Italy, Kunst Hochgeschool in Amsterdam, the University of Alaska and in Anchorage in the USA.
She has also participated in a number of workshops and symposia in Ireland, Italy, Slovakia, USA, Hungary, Holland, Lithuania and Denmark, among others.
Lis Gram has also traveled the world as a lecturer starting in 1970 at Århus Academy. The lecture tour for more than 30 years has taken her to universities and art colleges in Japan, Nova Scotia, Italy, California, Oakland, Amsterdam, Israel and Australia.
Lis Gram was Galleri Pictor's summer exhibitor in 2007 together with ceramicist Aase Haugaard from Århus.
