Luiz Piza had his first solo exhibition at the Musée d'art moderne in Sâo Paulo in 1958. Since then, he has had about a hundred solo exhibitions and participated in just as many group exhibitions.

Exhibitions have taken place in museums and galleries in many countries - France, Brazil, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, Yugoslavia, Switzerland, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Italy, Japan, Ecuador, South Korea, New Zealand, USA, Israel , Cuba and Mexico.

Luiz Piza has been purchased by several art museums in the world, including the Guggenheim and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Center Pompidou and the Musée d'art moderne de la ville de Paris in Paris, the Albertina in Vienna, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Musée d'art moderne and Musée d'art contemporain in Sâo Paulo.
